Government and Administrative Law
We regularly counsel real estate developers, investment companies, public contractors, and other service providers on regulatory compliance issues, examinations and inspections, both in general representation and as special counsel before state government agencies on sensitive and/or significant compliance matters. We also routinely represent clients before the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law as well as other regulatory agencies such as the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Community Affairs, the Department of Law and Public Safety, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the Pinelands Commission and the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
Our firm currently serves as legal counsel for several New Jersey municipalities, a county utilities authority and various state and federal government authorities. Our firm’s expertise in local, county and state government matters is multidisciplinary in nature, including counseling clients in the areas of labor and employment law, public finance law, zoning and land use, environmental law, general municipal law, construction projects, litigation, litigation avoidance, the Open Public Records Act and the Open Public Meetings Act, among others. School Law (Including Special Needs)
Our firm’s representation of public school districts in New Jersey as well as private clients interacting with school districts have allowed us to develop experience in a diverse array of matters including: public procurement matters, special education, Individuals With Disabilities Education Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and related matters, collective bargaining, tenure and general labor and employment matters, human resources and personnel training, employee risk management and regulatory matters before state and federal agencies.
Government and Legislative Lobbying
As the complexities of interacting with government agencies expand, our firm can expertly guide vendors and contractors doing business with governmental agencies through the intricacies of New Jersey’s ethics, campaign finance and pay-to-play laws. Additionally, we monitor, review and analyze proposed legislation and regulations impacting clients and their interests. Our New Jersey registered lobbyist maintains strong relationships with local and state officials, and can assist clients with developing strategies and interacting with legislators and policymakers to achieve client objectives.
